Rug Cleaning Service

Cleaning service available. On this page, you will find cleaning process, pricing policy, and rugs suitable for our service. We do not try to sell our service to everyone. Find out whether your rug needs our service.

Every rug-cleaning starts with an inspection. A brief summary of our rug-cleaning process:

Pre-Wash Inspection: We inspect your rug for its pre-existing conditions, wear, and damage before washing.
Dusting and Vacuuming: Dust off and vacuum professionally.
De-Contaminating: Sanitation, removal of any odor or such contamination of spilled wine, pet urine, and mold, and treatment for infestation of moths or insects.
Washing: This stage is a bath for your rug, which will be submerged for duration of time necessary for the cleaning.
Rinsing: Remove completely any residual soap or chemical. No pressurized water; which means more water usage, but we do what it takes.
Drying: Natural air-drying is the best way in most cases.
Hand-brushing: Finish off the process by hand-brushing. Any repair or restoration services requested will follow after this step.
Any repair or restoration: any minor or major repairs. Show us your rug; tell us your store. We will fix it.

Would like to know more about washing?

Pre-Wash Inspection: We inspect your rug for its pre-existing conditions, wear, and damage before washing.

Evaluate the conditions and determine the most appropriate way to clean your rug. Also, for the wear, any damage, and pre-existing conditions, we would like to access them before we begin the rug-cleaning process. By analogy, when you take to an authorized dealer your expensive watch, a dealer inspects your watch and requests you to sign a paper, which describes the pre-existing conditions including normal wear, scratch, damage, or any other pre-existing conditions before a horologist or technician carries out any repair, maintenance, or overhaul on your timepiece. Similarly, at Dena Rug, we inspect your rug for its status quo. Upon careful assessment, we may also suggest at this stage any repair if deemed necessary.

Dusting and Vacuuming: Dust off and vacuum professionally.

Depending on how much foot-traffic your rug has undergone and also which type of foot-traffic, the rug may have accumulated dust, dirt, soil, and any materials. For the best outcome, this step is a must. For vacuuming, it is important to avoid bristle roller-brushes as they can damage the rug pile and cause edges to fray. We do not use any cleaning tools prone to causing pre-mature wear to your valuable rug.

De-Contaminating: Sanitization, removal of any odor or such contamination of spilled wine, pet urine, and mold, and treatment for infestation of moths or insects.

Washing: This stage is a bath for your rug, which will be submerged for duration of time necessary for the cleaning. Cold water is the safest way, but depending on the uncleanness, lukewarm water may be optimal. We take time to get it right. We carefully select soap and chemical products for your rug as each rug is different in materials and conditions. We are mindful of discoloration by shampoo and any products to be used in the process. We keep our products as chemically mild and gentle as possible.

Rinsing: Remove completely any residual soap or chemical. No pressurized water; which means more water usage, but we do what it takes.

Drying: Natural air-drying is the best way in most cases. When the weather does not permit, we may finish up the drying process in a controlled setting. Avoidance of excessive heat is important. It takes longer time, but it is worthwhile.

Hand-brushing: Finish off the process by hand-brushing. Any repair or restoration services requested will follow after this step.

Any repair or restoration: any minor or major repairs. Show us your rug; tell us your store. We will fix it.

Reasons to consider cleaning service at Dena Rug:

  1. Your rug is made up wool, silk, cashmere, camel hair, or any other natural materials – and is not made of such inexpensive materials as viscose, polyester, bamboo-silk, or any synthetic materials. For synthetic materials, we recommend your local dry-cleaner for your first option. Natural materials like silk can get damaged if handled improperly. Our service is designed for natural materials that should be handled with matriculate care.

  2. Your rug needs repair or restoration service. In case your rug requires repair service (whether it be a simple repair like fringes or a major repair) or restoration service such as coloring or re-weaving, it makes sense to ship it to us from abroad. Professional weaving is extremely labor-intensive, and skillful artisans train decades – NOT a few weeks, months, or years – to become proficient. It will be almost impossible to find one in your area, and even if you find one, estimate will be astronomical. Should this be the case, send us your rug. We will repair and clean at the same time. It makes sense economically.

  3. Your rug is a sentimental item. We understand that a rug can be a sentimental item. Perhaps it reminds you of your deceased pet or the rug is the closest thing you have to your loved ones. We comprehend. We respect that. We won’t judge the rug by quality; we will take care of it and make sure you get it back safely.
